Total Electrical Training has opened a new training centre in Harlow, Essex. The centre, which hosted its first delegates in early 2007, will reinforce the capabilities of the company's existing headquarters.

The addition of the new facility means that Total Electrical Training's capacity has increased by 75%. This has been reinforced by an expansion of the administrative facilities in the company's headquarters and an increase in staffing levels in all areas.

"Last year proved that we needed to expand our facilities to cope with the requirements of the electrical contracting industry," explained Chris Atkin, managing director of Total Electrical Training.

"Demand for City & Guilds 2381 - the 16th edition IEE regulations has been enormous, largely as a result of electricians preparing for Part P registration. However, courses in periodic testing and inspecting, portable appliance testing and other elements of the building regulations."

Total Electrical Training has also recently added the NICEIC DISQ training programme (the Domestic Installer Scheme Qualification) to its portfolio and expects demand to be high for this qualification in 2007.
