Legrand has combined its resources with Tenby to create an evolved system of wiring accessories: The Synergy range, after five years in research and development.

The Synergy range has been developed to provide interior designers with wiring accessories that complement every conceivable décor, while meeting the practical and safety needs of installers and end users.

All modern Synergy products feature hidden screws and slim, contoured plates - a UK first for metal products - while the traditional products also boast new slim plates.

Legrand’s design innovations have also helped to create a sophisticated and coordinated look across the entire Synergy range. A 3-light LED display, which is invisible on all white products until activated and is a subtle design feature on all decorative products, gives the Synergy range a signature that is instantly recognisable. In addition, the incorporation of a contoured rocker gives switch-operated accessories a unique appearance and precision action across the range.

Combining the future-proofing of Voice, Data and Image (VDI) accessories with the flexibility and functionality of a comprehensive grid system, Synergy also incorporates a patented true 3-pin safety shutter on sockets, a development that means all three pins must be inserted prior to it being activated.

Designed in a timeless style, Synergy accessories are available in two distinctly different forms, modern and traditional. Both of which are available in a choice of finishes that cater for ‘warm’ and ‘cool’ design themes.

"Research shows that style now plays a more important role than ever in any interior and, as a result design trends are becoming ever more diverse," said Legrand’s Market Segment Manager, Alastair Ramsay. "To keep pace with this design-led culture, wiring accessories have had to evolve to a stage where they are stylish, functional and, due to the longevity of their lifespan, equipped to cope with future developments and changing design trends."

"This is what we set out to achieve with Synergy and we’re confident that the years of planning, research and development that have gone into bringing Synergy to the market mean this new system will not only achieve its aim of altering perceptions about wiring accessories, but take them into a whole new, design-led arena," he concluded.

Code-named Arden, the development of Synergy involved:
· A 5-year development programme - two of which were dedicated to market research / focus groups that were all initiated in the UK.
· Staff from three countries, the UK, China and France, working closely together for the duration of the project.
· A dedicated 100-strong team working on it during the final stages of development.

As a result:
· In excess of 1500 new products have been developed.
· The range has sales potential in over 30 countries and will be sold exclusively and nationally via an extensive electrical wholesalers network to the electrical contracting community.
· The range is being rolled out simultaneously in coordinated launches across Africa, the Middle and Far East.

All manufacturing is carried out by ISO certified Legrand factories. 75% of part numbers are manufactured in the UK.
