According to research by ELECSA, 32% of electrical contractors choose their Part P scheme based on personal recommendation and a no-nonsense approach is the reason behind many contractors decision to join ELECSA. The findings were based on a survey of 1200 Part P contractors, which covered issues such as customer service, assessments and job notification.

The research showed an appetite for more technical tips, articles and general guidance. ELECSA’s technical support is easily accessible by phone and email and two new staff have recently joined the technical department to deal with enquiries from the increasing number of contractors joining the ELECSA scheme.

The structure of ELECSA’s website also scored highly with 90% rating the ease of job notification with ELECSA as 4 out of 5. Business Development Manager for ELECSA, Sarah Needham, said ‘our goal is to provide essential, practical support to contractors, and make it as easy as possible for them to comply with Part P with a friendly, easy to use service’.
