Power-free satellite distribution system for blocks of flats Power-free satellite distribution system for blocks of flats - news feed from the Electrical News Portal

One of the biggest problems facing installers of shared satellite dish systems in blocks of flats is the power for the system. Often there is no independent landlord’s supply available and no one tenant likes the idea of their mains powering a whole block of residents’ TV systems.

But with the Vision V4, there is an answer: Vision Products has developed a power-free satellite distribution system for blocks of flats that’s really low cost. The Vision V4 is modular and ideal for small and large blocks alike.

Exclusively designed for the UK market, the Vision V4 system is entirely powered by the receivers in the individual flats, and even a 64-outlet system can operate with just one Sky box connected.

The range is based on compact, low energy switches available in four-output and eight-output cascadable modules. Each Vision V4 model has colour-coded inputs for connecting the system’s “Quattro” IRS LNB, and outputs to connect to the next module, by close-coupling or with a trunk cable.

The switches have sloped gain performance for signal matching with a choice of gain values.

Even the electrical safety earth bars are factory fitted. This keeps down the installation time for a Vision V4 system, maintains electrical integrity and extends system reliability even further.

Accessories include a Vision IRS LNB and Vision benchmarked 4-core + earth cable, all colour coded to match the switches. These eliminate misidentification during installation and again speed install times, saving money.
