Typically, enclosures installed in wet areas are fitted with external wall fixings, which add to the never ending list of cleaning problems within the processing industries.

Historically, enclosure manufacturers have failed to provide reliable methods of fixing enclosures to walls and machines without having a detrimental effect to the IP Rating and cleaning of the enclosure, resulting in the use of 'difficult to clean' external brackets.

To eliminate the cleaning problem caused by external brackets, many of the enclosures manufactured by Electrix are complete with a unique method of securing the enclosure to a wall or machine.

The enclosures incorporate unique internal sealed compartment fixing receptacles, capable of withstanding pressures of up to 1000 PSI, with no loss of IP Rating. The problems associated with cleaning standard external fixing brackets are eliminated.

Company Director, Chris Thompson, says "I know that it may seem a massive overkill, but this is why Electrix always remain the leader in enclosure design for the Food, Beverage and Pharmaceutical industries.

Many of our products contain these sealed compartment fixing receptacles, which allows our customers to wash their enclosures with ease and confidence, knowing there will be no ingress of water."

Having been in several meetings and conference calls with processing industry leaders, the UK Design Team for Electrix have designed an IP66 Stainless Steel Enclosure Fitted with a Waterproof Interlocked Switch and Industrial Socket.

The new design has been approved by several Worldwide processing companies who regard Electrix as their preferred supplier.

The enclosure has many features:
- The sloping roof deflects water and prevents undesirable objects being stored on the surface.
- The deep cavity around the front of the enclosure helps to protect the switch and socket from accidental damage.
- The switch and socket are CE marked and mechanically interlocked, thus providing a very safe product.
- The sealed compartment fixing receptacles eliminate the need for external brackets, whilst maintaining the IP66 Rating.
- The 1.4301 - 304 Stainless Steel is maintenance free, and ideal for the Food, Beverage & Pharmaceutical industries (1.4404 - 316 available on request).

Currently, Electrix have six products in this new range from '110V - 3 Poles' to '380-415V - 3-5 Poles'.
