Electricians could be in for a shock as they have moved to the top of the taxman’s targeted campaign list
The Electricians Tax Safe Plan (ETSP) will begin in February 2012 and give an opportunity for electricians and electrical fitters to come forward and declare unpaid tax. REMA advises how to interpret and comply with new IE1 motor Regulations
Regulation 640/2009 of the EcoDesign Directive has now come into effect and any motor with an efficiency rating less that IE2 can no longer be placed on the market. Since 16 June 2011 it is no longer legal to place low efficiency motors on the European market. Specifically, the Regulations apply to LV motors of type S1 and S3 between the sizes 750W and 375kW.
