Power Quality training seminars from Fluke

Fluke is offering free “hands-on” Power Quality Training Seminars during 2008 at locations around the UK and Ireland. They are designed for electricians and electrical engineers involved in troubleshooting the causes of poor power quality, often the root cause of potentially costly problems in industrial electrical installations and equipment. No previous experience is necessary.
The programme can be viewed by visiting the Fluke web site and clicking on Events/Seminars The free seminars, based around real case studies, will include hands-on training on how to conduct inspections using a variety of power quality tools, as well as offering a free DVD, Case Studies and Application Notes giving advice on troubleshooting techniques and checking EN50160 compliance.
The modules are:
• Module 1 - Introduction to Power Quality
• Module 2 - Ski Café Example - Voltage Dips
• Module 3 - Wastewater Plant Example - Power Factor
• Module 4 - Chemical Plant Example - Unbalance
• Module 5 - Plastic Plant Example - Harmonics
• Module 6 - Wind Farm Example - Transients
• Module 7 - Introduction to the EN50160 Power Quality Standard
Modules 2 to 7 are practical training modules based on the power quality examples shown in the Fluke DVD ‘Power Quality in Industrial Applications’.
The training will be based on Fluke power quality products, a complete range of rugged Power Quality tools for three-phase systems, offering a choice of solutions for pinpointing power problems faster in a wide range of industrial, commercial and domestic installations. These include the 1740 Series Power Quality Logger Series and the Fluke 1735 Power Logger, as well as two Fluke products offering IEC 61000-4-30 Class A-compliance: the handheld Fluke 430 Series Power Quality Analyser Series and the Fluke 1760 Three-phase Power Quality Recorder.
