Draka Firetuf Easystrip selected for alarm refurbishments in Westminster Council school
(08/10/2006)
Wilberforce School in Beethoven Street, Westminster, was built over 100 years ago and is typical of many inner City schools up and down the country that are currently undergoing refurbishment. Such refurbishments often entail upgrading of the fire alarm installations.
The London office of Ingleton Wood LLP is associated with the mechanical and electrical refurbishment of various educational buildings on behalf of Westminster City Council including the replacement of fire alarm systems in various Westminster Schools. Due to time scales and the nature of the projects they required a highly robust and flexible fire alarm cable to install within the existing structure.
Ingleton Wood, working on behalf of Westminster Council, was responsible for the design of the replacement fire alarm system at Wilberforce School. They have solely specified Firetuf Easystrip, Draka's standard fire performance cable.
Ingleton Wood, as a registered practice with the Royal Institute of British Architects, The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, and are registered members of CIBSE and IEE offer a full range of services associated with new build as well as refurbishment and conversion of existing buildings. The company as a multi disciplined practice has experience of a wide range of building types, specialising particularly in residential, health, commercial and educational work.
Mike Burrows of NRT, who carried out the installation work on behalf of Ingleton Wood said “Firetuf Easystrip does exactly what is says on the coil! It was very quick and easy to install and we were able to complete the installation on time in readiness for the new term.”.
Building Services Engineer John M. Hayden of Ingleton Wood LLP said “We recommend specifying Draka products whenever we can for our fire alarm installation projects because with their Firetuf fire alarm cabling and accessories the installation becomes a straight forward job “.
