There is a growing awareness that Styrene, a commonly used ingredient in the chemical market, is highly toxic and possibly carcinogenic to humans. In an attempt to reduce users exposure to this dangerous substance, Spit now offers a completely styrene free range of chemical anchors.

Spit have long offered an extensive selection of chemical anchors, but the new styrene free range includes a number of new products, improved formulas and restyled packaging.

One of the new additions is Epobar, an epoxy acrylate developed specifically for use with rebar applications. Made from pure epoxy resin and not a hybrid of products, these resins have a high bonding quality, are less odorous and inject easily at lower temperatures. They also have SOCOTEC approval, perform to a high strength in water saturated concrete and can be set in humid and other difficult environments.

Epomax is an improved replacement for Epomix, Spit’s own patented chemical formulation specifically designed for stud fixings. This product has been fire tested and has both ETA & SOCOTEC approvals. Offering a high performance in damp and cold conditions, its fast dispensing, no heating formulation is easy to use and is ideal for fixing into hollow and solid materials.

In order to better suit end user requirements, Spit C-Mix Plus has been improved to speed up curing time. This pre-mixed, pumpable polyester resin is ideal for a wide range of applications but primarily for reinforcing fixings into hollow base materials.

To complete the range, Spit have also introduced a selection of foam products. There are B2 (fire rated) & B3 (standard) alternatives available in both gun and aerosol forms. The foam can be used for attaching to concrete, brick, plaster, foamed polystyrene, PVC, metal and wood and is suitable for mounting windows & doorframes as well as heat insulation of water pipes, sewerage and central heating.

All resins in the styrene free chemical anchor range have been designed, developed and manufactured in Spit’s purpose built plant in France.
