Scheduled for completion in summer 2007, the £25 million AirSpace project at the Imperial War Museum Duxford has seen the former airfield’s Hangar One completely redeveloped to create a high specification exhibition space that befits the superb examples of aviation engineering that will be displayed there.

Legrand has supplied a cable management solution for a development that is set to become the centre of British aviation heritage. The Legrand cable management system, which comprises an array of different trunking solutions and specially manufactured stainless steel outlet modules, was specified and installed by Aqua Mechanical Services Ltd – a Cambridgeshire-based mechanical and electrical services contractor that is part of the Aqua Group.

“As well as standard galvanised trunking, the various complexities of the project were such that we also had to supply flush floor trunking, underfloor duct and compartmentalised power trunking,” said Legrand’s Nigel Leaver.

“When you also take into account the fact we produced made-to-order stainless steel outlet module boxes and were able to supply perimeter trunking in the form of our popular DLP range it shows the benefit of dealing with a company that supplies a full range of cable management solutions,” he continued.
