Earlier this month, the first Lighting Industry Awards were held by The Lighting Association at a Gala Dinner in Stratford upon Avon.

Gyles Brandreth, star of ‘Have I Got News for You’ and Radio 4’s ‘Just a Minute’ provided an amusing and unusual view of the industry before the presentation.

The judges who represented the trade press, industry, energy suppliers and Government organisations had difficulty in short listing 3 nominations in each of the 5 categories but finally a decision was reached and winners were announced for the best Light Source, Commercial Luminaire, Domestic Luminaire, Innovation and a lifetime achievement award.

Peter Hunt Chief Executive of The Lighting Association said “The evening was a huge success and the awards went to very worthy winners. The seminar programme followed by both the Student Design Awards and the Industry Awards proved to be a winning combination. Couple with that an extremely friendly crowd from the industry and we had a recipe for an excellent night.”
