The latest addition to the Seaward range of hand held electrical installation testers is the IRT1557 combined insulation and continuity tester. The new lightweight instrument is designed to meet the measurement requirements of the IEE 17th Edition Wiring Regulations and Part P certification.

The robust IRT1557 combines high performance test facilities with a number of special user friendly operating features. These include long life battery operation and a large backlit LCD display that shows all measurement readings in both analogue and digital formats.

The tester also incorporates a unique integrated safety probe that ensures that the large backlit analogue and digital LCD test display remains in the user line of sight while circuit measurements are being taken.

Other features include automatic discharge of capacitive circuits, a lock function to continuously apply a test and automatic audio warnings of high voltage and low or high resistance. An easy to use rotary switch provides test selection and the unit is supplied with fused test leads.

The IRT1557 forms part of a new series of hand held installation testers from Seaward that also includes the PowerPlus 1557 combined test and certification unit, the ERT1557 earth resistance tester and the Powertest 1557 all in one tester.
