Last year, Schneider Electric held a series of events dedicated to informing attendees about a range of energy efficient measures, as well as showcasing its portfolio of energy efficiency solutions. The series kicked-off with an event in Edinburgh, followed by Birmingham then Bristol, which all saw hundreds of contractors, energy managers, consultants, architects and distributors, as well as representatives from local and health authorities, meet with Schneider Electric’s energy management specialists for advice and information.

Energy efficiency is becoming a critical issue for businesses and it seems understanding it is hot on their agenda, as analysis from Schneider Electric’s series of Tackling Energy events highlights.

Attendee figures show the popularity of the events increased by 60 per cent over the duration of the events. Feedback from the events highlights delegates were predominately keen to learn more about energy efficiency issues, including the impact of legislation and how implementing energy-saving measures can help a business. In addition, those that attended wanted to view new offerings from Schneider Electric and find out about specific solutions for a variety of projects.

Each event included a programme of seminars focusing on the four steps to energy efficiency, solutions to support an electrical infrastructure including Integrated Installation Solutions and key legislation such as the Carbon Reduction Commitment, which impacts on UK businesses.

Stephen Coop, managing director of Schneider Electric UK explains: “As energy management specialists, we’re keen to share our knowledge. These events are one of the best ways we can interact with people and truly help them to meet their energy efficiency obligations, by showcasing practical measures that can save energy, money and the environment. We heavily invested in the Tackling Energy concept and it’s great to see the events have proved to be a huge success with diverse customer groups. We believe there is still a substantial amount of work to be done educating the market and we certainly intend to continue to help all businesses, contractors and consultants, with further Tackling Energy events planned throughout 2010.”
