Simutech Releases Industrial Control System Troubleshooting Simulator
(11/11/2008)
Simutech Multimedia has announced the release of the FPS 3000 Troubleshooting Simulator, for immediate availability. This software is designed to help develop advanced troubleshooting techniques on a complex Industrial Control System Simulation.
The FPS 3000 software is an electrical troubleshooting simulation designed for individuals to develop advanced skills for troubleshooting Industrial Control Systems.
The FPS 3000 software uses a highly realistic simulation of a typical fluid processing system found in many industries, from food processing to petrochemical refineries. The software teaches users a systematic approach for troubleshooting and repairing both electrical and mechanical faults safely and efficiently.
“We developed the software to focus on teaching troubleshooting through a practical and applied approach. The simulator provides an unlimited amount of safe, hands-on practice which allows users to develop highly effective troubleshooting skills,” said Warren Rhude, President of Simutech Multimedia Inc. “The hands-on approach is one of the best ways to learn a skill. When teaching a skill, the focus should be on what the student can DO.”
The tools available in FPS 3000 are designed to give the user a true hands-on experience. The Multimeter gives users the ability to take voltage, resistance, and current readings. The Screwdriver can be used to disconnect and reconnect multiple wires from terminal blocks and wire nuts. The Wrench gives users the ability to perform inspections and repair components, replace a wire or component, and visually trace the route of a wire.
With three editions currently available, the FPS 3000 Troubleshooting Simulator offers numerous training solutions. This software is designed for use in various environments, including formal training programs, classrooms or labs, small businesses or shops, and individual learning.
All editions of the FPS 3000 software include an extensive troubleshooting skill evaluation system. This system assesses the user’s skill each time they complete a fault and provides a skill rating. Additionally, it identifies weak areas in the user’s troubleshooting process.
“Right now, no one produces electrical training/educational products that come close to having the bang for the buck that you guys do…and I’m speaking of any type of media,” said one satisfied customer. “And this program [FPS 3000] is hands down the best electrical training product I’ve ever seen.”
