A programmable sound module with IP69K protection has been added to the range of industrial buzzers offered by EAO.

EAO’s new Series 56 Multi-Tone Sound Module (MTSM) answers the need for a sophisticated device that will emit a range of different sounds according to the change in status of equipment or machinery.

It will benefit any application where an audible signal is required to inform people of a change in the local surroundings. For instance, it can be used on trains to help the visually-impaired locate a doorway and notify them that a door is closing.

It is pre-programmed with 5 standard tone sequences that are commonly used as warning, orientation, acknowledgment or approval signals, but it is a significant improvement over conventional buzzers because the signals can be modified according to the customer’s needs.

A signal is comprised of up to five different tone sequences. Each tone sequence can be played at a specific volume (up to a maximum of 90dB) and for a specific duration. It is even possible to create simple tunes when tone sequences are programmed to play one after the other.

The IP69K protection enables the product to be used externally, even in areas that are regularly jet washed.

EAO offers a number of single tone buzzers, which emit a signal of between 85 and 95dB at 0.1m range. These are available in different sizes and styles including:
· Round, 22.5mm and 30.5mm raised and flush-mounting chromium-plated buzzers, IP40 and IP65 rated, 24VDC, with choice of solder, plug-in or soldering terminals (EAO Series 14)
· Rectangular, 36mm X 24mm plastic buzzers, rated 10-55VAC / 10-75VDC with screw terminals (EAO Series 03)
· Rectangular for 16mm PCB mounting, with choice of intermittent or continuous tone, rated 10-55VAC / 10-75VDC (EAO Series 31)

Single tone buzzers are suitable for use in machinery, lifting and moving, marine, instrumentation, or any control panel.
