Beijing Airport’s new Terminal 3, which opened in March 2008, has more than doubled the previous capacity of the airport from 30 to 66.5 million passengers per year. Some 330 check-in counters are connected to a 68 km, high-speed, tray-conveyor system. The Nexans Board of Directors has approved the accounts for 2007. Key figures: * Net sales in 2007 totaled 7.412 billion euros compared with 7.489 billion euros in 2006. Successful Testing Paves the Way for Commercial Superconductor Power Cables (19/07/2007)
American Superconductor Corporation and Nexans have announced the successful testing of the world’s first power transmission cable made with second generation (2G) high temperature superconductor (HTS) wire. Nexans has completed a contract worth around 5 million Euros for Scottish Power to manufacture and supply the 33kV cable that provides the grid connection for E.ON UK’s 44MW biomass power plant, currently under construction at Stevens Croft, near Lockerbie, Scotland.
